Business messages need to use common EDI standards.
When several businesses decide to collaborate, they must use common Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standards for Business Messages. Thankfully, these standards are openly (ebXML, GS1) available to everyone. These standards must be implemented by all participants in the supply chain network. Coena provides a complete platform for EDI message integration for small businesses, and gives large businesses the adapters to talk in a common language in a network.
Some businesses don't have systems. What about them?
Some businesses, especially small businesses, don't have complete systems to process EDI messages for Orders and Purchases. They use spreadsheets, simple systems based on MS-Access®, or even pen and paper. Coena provides a complete system for small businesses to manage their product portfolio, inventory, and orders.

Larger businesses with old systems that aren't capable of automatically updating the network about product information, sending and receiving business messages, and managing real-time inventory use Coena's Enterprise Adapters to extract their legacy data, and make them supply-chain collaboration capable. This means they don't have to change their existing applications, and yet they can create a single-source of product information, send and receive EDI messages, publish their inventory information to their webshop and selected partners, and manage their orders online.
